Why did we rename ZPlatt?
Our ZPlatt staff discovered while reading Slavery and Freedom in the Mid-Hudson Valley that our namesake Zephaniah Platt, the founder of Plattsburgh, was a slave owner of a man named Tone. Upon this discovery and reading about Platt and his life, we have decided as a staff to disband the name “ZPlatt.”
To find out more about how we decided to change our name, check out this article in Cardinal Points.
